Choosing how long to keep things

Set the account rule

1. Open Settings → Keeping things.
2. Choose Forever, a number of days, or a deletion date in Keep my things.
3. Read the effect of the change, then choose Save changes. Keep it as it was cancels the edit.

Give a Space its own rule

Open that Space's settings to review its retention choice. A Space-specific rule can override the account rule. Check the effective choice before adding material you need to keep.

A shorter rule can affect existing material

Saving a shorter retention rule can make older things eligible for permanent removal. Export anything you need before saving. Forever means until you delete it or change the rule; it is not a replacement for your own archive.
