Exporting and removing your data
Find the controls for keeping a copy, removing an item, or deleting your account.
2 min readKeep a copy before making a big change
Open Settings → Take a copy and choose Get a copy. Read What a copy leaves out; incognito conversations are not included. Follow the status shown while it is prepared, then download it when ready.
Check the export contents before relying on it as your only copy. Searchable or processed representations are not a promise of a bit-for-bit archival backup of every upload.
Remove one thing
Use the item's actions to remove a file or conversation. If Undo is offered, use it within the time shown if you change your mind.
A reference to removed material may no longer be available in an older answer. Review the original before deleting it if you still need it for your work.
Request account deletion
If you have an active paid subscription, first cancel it from Settings → Plan and usage → Manage billing. Then open Settings → Delete everything and read the confirmation carefully. This is different from logging out or cancelling a subscription. Submitting a request starts the deletion process; follow its status rather than assuming it has already finished.
The Privacy Policy explains deletion and any applicable retention boundaries. Contact support if the export or deletion flow gets stuck; include the state shown, not private source contents.
