Search isn't finding what you expected

Make sure the item is ready

Check whether the source has finished processing and hasn't been removed. A newly uploaded file can appear in the collection before its contents are searchable.

Check the scope

1. Clear the current Space and content-type filters.
2. Try fewer distinctive words, or describe the idea instead of the exact wording.
3. If you know the source, open it directly or attach it to a question.
4. In chat, check the composer's context. A browsing filter doesn't automatically describe every source available to that conversation.

A missing match isn't proof the detail isn't there

Extraction can miss a faint word, a brief visual detail, or an unclear recording. Search results are useful leads, not a complete audit of every fact in a collection.

If the original clearly contains the detail, contact support with the source type and a non-sensitive description of the issue.
