Light mode, dark mode, and the sidebar
Make the interface comfortable for the way you are using it.

Use the light/dark theme control in navigation. Public Guides has the same control in its header. Switching the theme changes the interface colours; it does not change a file's original colours.
Make room on desktop
Collapse or expand the sidebar with its control or Ctrl+B / Command+B. On a phone, use the bottom navigation and Menu instead.
Home and other pages
Home has the aurora background. Other workspaces use a plain surface so the things you are viewing have room. The interface follows reduced-motion preferences where supported; text and controls remain usable without the decorative movement.
